European Union: European Data Strategy seeks to harmonise data protection across sectors

In its European Data Strategy, the European Commission promises a cross-sectoral governance framework for data access and use. The aim of the framework is to harmonise across sectors data-related regulation such as data protection standards, cross-border transfer rules and interoperability requirements.
