Adopted first batch of compliant data exporting entities in Shanghai (Measures for Security Assessment of Data Exports)

On 5 May 2023, the Shanghai Internet Information Office announced that two companies, Mazda (China) Enterprise Management Co., Ltd. and Sephora (Shanghai) Cosmetics Sales Co., Ltd., have been approved as compliant data export projects in the country, pursuant to the CAC Measures for Security Assessment of Data Exports. As of 28 April 2023, nearly 60 of the applications of the over 400 applications the Shanghai Cyberspace Administration received have been submitted to the National Cyberspace Administration Office after passing its comprehensive inspection.
