Issued Supreme Court ruling on employment status of Uber drivers

On 16 February 2023, the Swiss Federal Supreme Court issued a ruling recognising Uber drivers as employees of the companies that employ them (case 9C_71/2022, 9C_75/2022). In this particular case, it determined that drivers for UberX, UberBlack, UberVan and UberPop working for Uber B.V. and Rasier Operations B.V. Switzerland are employees and as such the companies that employ them are required to deduct and pay their social security taxes.
