Implemented Section 66 of the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act 2022

On 26 April 2023, Section 66 of the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act 2022 was implemented after the Secretary of State issued relevant implementing regulations (Commencement Regulations No.2). Section 66 concerns the refusal of application for code rights on grounds of national security. If a data operator applies to the court for an order and the Secretary of State confirms that this order would impair national security investigations, then said application may be refused.
