Implemented amendment to Telecommunications Business Act including content moderation requirement
On 10 December 2020, the Telecommunications Business Act amendment was signed into Law. The amendment requires online intermediaries to take technical measures to prevent the circulation of illegally filmed materials. For violations, the amended penalties comprise up to three years of imprisonment with labor or a fine of KRW 100 million.
