Introduced Online Privacy Act of 2023 (HR 2701) including data protection authority governance

On 19 April 2023, the Online Privacy Act of 2023 (HR 2701) was introduced in the House of Representatives of the United States. The Act reintroduces the provisions outlined in the HR 6027 of 2021, which failed to pass before the Congress 117th adjourned. In particular, the Act would establish a Digital Privacy Agency that would have the power to enforce the obligations outlined in the Bill.
