Signed amendment to Telecommunications Business Act including requirement to appoint local representative

On 9 June 2020, Bill No. 2024959, outlining amendments to the Telecommunications Business Act, was signed into Law, becoming Law No. 18869. The Law requires foreign communications network providers (CNP) and value-added telecommunications service providers (VSP) that reach a specific threshold of users and traffic generated to appoint a local representative, "domestic agents." The specific obligations and the thresholds will be established through a Presidential Decree. The obligations come into force on 10 December 2020.
