Implemented Personal Data Protection Decree including data transfer regulation

On 1 July 2023, the Vietnamese Decree on Personal Data Protection entered into force. The Decree establishes a comprehensive regulation on data protection. In particular, Article 25 regulates the cross-border transfer of personal data, which requires the data consent of the data subject and the carrying out of a data protection impact assessment which should be reported to the Ministry of Public Security.
