On 13 April 2023, the Brazilian National Secretariat for Consumers (Senacom) adopted Order No. 1/2023 requiring social media platform Facebook to submit, within 72 hours, a report on the measures adopted to monitor, limit and restrict online content that promotes violence against schools and students. The information is being requested as provided by Ordinance No. 351/2023 which entered into force on 13 April 2023, outlining content obligations for social networks in connection with attacks on schools. In particular, the Ordinance requires social media platforms to remove content that was determined as harmful by authorities and implement measures limiting the spread of harmful content.
