Republic of Korea: KFTC approves Tving-Seezn Merger

On 31 October 2021, the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) approved the merger of Tving and Seezn, two domestic over-the-top platforms. In its assessment, the KFTC determined that the merger would not likely limit competition in the relevant markets, which include the 1) OTT service market where the merging parties had a presence and the 2) content supply market where multiple types of content are provided to OTT platforms.
