Republic of Korea: Adopted Cloud Computing Act Amendment including data protection regulation

On 9 December 2021, the amendment to the "Act on the Development of Cloud Computing and Protection of its Users" (Cloud Computing Act) was adopted by the Korean National Assembly. Under the Act, cloud computing service providers would be prohibited from disclosing user information to a third party without the data subject's consent.
