Published Headquarters for Digital Market Competition interim report on the inquiry into mobile ecosystem

On 26 April 2022, the Japanese Digital Market Competition Headquarters (DMCH) published the “Competition Assessment of the Mobile Ecosystem Interim Report Summary”. The Report outlines competition concerns in the mobile ecosystem, such as deterioration in the level playing field between platforms and third parties, and between third parties; increased costs, exclusion and restriction for entry at different layers across the mobile ecosystem and reduction of technological innovations.
