Implemented Cloud Computing Act Amendment including security certification requirement

On 12 January 2023, the amendment to the “Act on the Development of Cloud Computing and Protection of its Users” (Cloud Computing Act) entered into force. The Act regulates the use of cloud computing services by national agencies, local governments, and public institutions. The Act empowers the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) to provide a security certification for cloud computing services that comply with the cloud computing standards. The MSIT will also be responsible for establishing standards for the quality and performance of cloud computing services and will evaluate compliance with the standards.
