Announced investigation into Google for alleged anti-competitive app store practices
On 10 June 2022, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) opened an investigation into Google for allegedly employing anti-competitive practices regarding its Google Play Store. Specifically, the CMA will investigate whether Google is forcing consumers and application developers into using its own payment system (Google Play Billing) for both app purchases and in-app purchases.
