The national evaluation report of data protection rules by the Danish data protection authority ('Datatilsynet') and the Ministry of Justice was issued on June 30, 2021. The evaluation includes an experience gathering, in which a consultation of relevant stakeholders and a public consultation have been conducted. Stakeholders had the opportunity to highlight concrete situations where there is a lack of clarity when data protection rules are applied in practice. The data protection authority and the Ministry of Justice thereupon provide in the report possible solutions and possible guidance on concrete issues. The evaluation report also focuses on identifying options for limiting the application of the data protection regulation to smaller actors, possibilities to simplify the rules of the Data Protection Act, as well as options for the introduction of prior checking of planned activities involving the processing of personal data.
