Adopted Law introducing storage obligations and maximum storage period

On 5 November 2015, the Law introducing storage obligations and maximum storage period was adopted. The law introduces data retention obligations for telecom companies. Particularly, telecom companies are required to store data on mobile phone calls, mobile internet use, telephone numbers, time and duration of the calls and SMS, IP addresses of all Internet users and the duration of Internet use. These categories have to be stored for a duration between 4 and 10 months and shall be handed over to law enforcement agencies only through a judicial order.
