Turkiye: Issued press release on progress of the Digital Turkish Lira Project

On 29 December 2023, the Turkish Central Bank published a press release on the progress of the Digital Turkish Lira Project. The first-phase pilot enabled the first payment transactions on the Digital Turkish Lira Network In 2023, the central bank will continue pilot tests with technology stakeholders and expand the Digital Turkish Lira Collaboration Platform to certain banks and fintech companies. After an advanced pilot phase, the central bank will share findings with the public in an evaluation report.
