Description

Approved acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft

On 29 December 2022, the Chilean Fiscalía Nacional Económica (FNE) approved the merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard following Phase 1 of the investigation. The FNE ruled that the deal would not substantially reduce competition. The FNE further concluded that post-acquisition, Microsoft is unlikely to pull Call of Duty from other formats due to the competitive pressure from other publishers. It additionally noted that Call of Duty was comparatively less relevant in Latin American markets than in other regions of the world.
