On 23 June 2022, amendments to the Canadian Competition Act as part of Bill C-19 were adopted by the Canadian Senate. Regarding unilateral conduct, the amendments increase the maximum sanctions for anti-competitive acts of deceptive marketing pricing and abuse of dominance to the greater sum between (i) CAD 10 million (CAD 15 million for repeat offences) and (ii) triple the amount of benefits derived, or, if this cannot be calculated, 3% of annual worldwide gross revenues.
