Issued Datatilsynet interim ruling in investigation into Jysk Fynske Media's use of cookie walls

On 8 February 2023, the Danish Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) ruled on Jysk Fynske Medier's use of cookie walls. The DPA found it to be unlawful since the content accessible by consenting to the treatment of personal data was only a small part of the content that paying customers could access. In addition, the DPA assessed that no sufficient explanation had been provided for the treatment of consumer data and ordered Jysk Fynske Medier to restructure access to its content by 8 March 2023.
