Adopted Ninth package of sanctions against Russia including service access restrictions on media outlets

On 16 December 2022, the Council of the European Union adopted the ninth package of sanctions against Russia as a result of the invasion of Ukraine. In particular, the ninth package of sanctions expands the list of Russian media outlets that are banned from the European Union. The broadcasting of NTV/NTV Mir, Rossiya 1, REN TV and Pervyi Kanal will be prohibited. The service access restrictions will be implemented from 1 February 2023.
