Announced plans for ninth Russian sanctions package including service access restrictions

On 7 December 2022, the European Commission (EC) announced plans for a ninth sanctions package against Russia as a result of the conflict in Ukraine. According to the EC, the new sanctions include prohibiting the broadcasting of four further news channels on air and on content moderation platforms.
