Opened Consultation on E-Seal Draft Report
On 8 March 2024, the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) opened a consultation on the “Draft Interim Report of the Study Group on e-Seal” and the “Draft Guidelines for e-Seal” until 27 March 2024. The public consultation concerns the e-Seal, which is a mechanism to confirm the source of electronic data issued by organisations in electronic data transactions. The draft report contains information regarding a national certification system for e-Seals, detailed information regarding the applicability of e-Seals as well as a future outlook.
