Description

Adopted CMA decision not to make a market investigation reference into music and streaming services

On 29 November 2022, the UK Competition and Market Authority (CMA) published its final Report on the music and music streaming market and decided not to make a market investigation reference based on its findings. The CMA can issue a recommendation for a market investigation reference if it finds market features that negatively impact competition or consumers. In its Report, CMA noted that three companies have a dominant position in the market, but it doesn't raise competition concerns and is not harming consumers or artists.
