DSM Copyright Directive including press publisher's right to claim remuneration enters into force

On 6 June 2019, the Directive on copyright and related rights in the Digital Single Market enters into force after being published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 15 May 2019. The Directive introduces a new right through Article 15, giving press publishers the option to claim remuneration for the use of their content by online platforms. Furthermore, the Directive specifies that the Member States should ensure that publishers can claim fair compensation.
