On 3 March 2022, the Fair Trade Commission of Taiwan published its White Paper on Competition Policy in the Digital Economy and opened a consultation until 31 March 2022. The White Paper explores the challenges in adapting conventional market assessments to the digital economy, the relationship between data protection and market competition and the legality of platform operators' practices such as self-preferencing, tying, predatory pricing, price discrimination, Most-Favored-Nation clause, resale price maintenance, algorithm-facilitated collusion and online sales restrictions.
