Japan: Issued Report on Japan-Malaysia Cooperation Measures in the Field of Information and Communications

On 7 March 2024, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and the Malaysian Ministry of Communications issued a report on the progress made since signing the Memorandum of Cooperation on information and communications cooperation in November of the previous year. During the 2nd Japan-Malaysia ICT Joint Working Group held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, officials from both sides convened to discuss policies related to ICT, broadband, broadcasting, information, and cybersecurity. The meeting resulted in the establishment of three working groups, each dedicated to these fields, with plans for ongoing collaboration. Additionally, a Japan-Malaysia ICT collaboration conference was organized concurrently, showcasing efforts by Japanese and Malaysian companies to both governments and exchanging updates on broadcasting and ICT advancements.
