Announced FCA wholesale data market study

On 2 March 2023, the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) announced it was launching a study on wholesale data market study aiming to investigate whether the markets for benchmarks, credit rating data and market data vendor services are working well. If the FCA finds evidence of competition concerns in one or more of these markets, it will issue considerations on the most appropriate ways to address these concerns, including, for example, through rule changes as part of the upcoming adoption of retained EU law and wider influencing of international standards.
