Published TC260 Practice Guidelines for Network Security Standards - Security Certification Specifications for Cross-Border Processing of Personal Information

On 16 December 2022, the National Information Security Standardization Technical Committee (TC260) released the “Practice Guidelines for Network Security Standards - Security Certification Specifications for Cross-Border Processing of Personal Information”, which aims to provide a legal basis for the authority to implement personal information protection certification. Furthermore, it provides guidance to personal information processors regarding the security standards and requirements for certification for the cross-border transfer of personal information. The Guidelines address the cross-border processing of personal information within multinational companies, their subsidiaries or affiliates and the transmission of personal information of natural persons in China.
