Announced Twitter Suspension

The Federal Ministry of Information and Culture announced the indefinite suspension of Twitter in Nigeria on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria through a press release and a series of tweets. The reason behind this announcement was the use of Twitter for movements that have the potential to undermine Nigeria's 'corporate existence'. It is yet to be seen how defying the governmental ban will be punished, although Nigeria's Attorney-General of the Federation had threated prosecution for all those still using Twitter.
