Opened consultation on measures to regulate stablecoin issuing and activities

On 26 October 2022, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) published a consultation on its Proposed Regulatory Approach for Stablecoin-Related Activities. Aiming to set out regulations applying to the issuing of stablecoins, MAS proposes certain standards applying to stablecoin issuers, including in relation to value stability and prudential standards. The consultation closes on 21 December 2022.
