On 2 September 2022, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) announced the Qinglang Special Action to Combat Online Rumours and False Information 2022. The Special Action will take the form of a three-month-long national campaign to remove content classified by the authorities as "rumours and false information" from the internet, improve the monitoring, discovery, and refutation process, and increase traceability and accountability. Furthermore, the CAC aims to develop a list of platforms' main responsibilities regarding the identification of rumours and false information.
