Adopted guidelines on the protection of user rights in telecommunications

On 14 July 2022, the member states of the Andean Community (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru) adopted Decision 897 which establishes the guidelines on the protection of user rights in telecommunications. The Decision establishes a number of user rights regarding personal data, such as rights to access, use, alteration, deletion and limitation on circulation of personal data. Furthermore, the Decision contains provisions aimed at establishing net neutrality and protecting user choice of operators.
