Adopted law on virtual assets

On 17 February 2022, the Ukrainian parliament adopted Law No. 3637 on Virtual Assets. The law launches the legal market for virtual assets in Ukraine, classifying virtual assets as civil objects and designating the Ukrainian government as regulatory authority. It applies to services related to the circulation of virtual assets, regardless of whether the provider has a registered location or a permanent establishment in the Ukraine. The aims are to ensure openness, efficiency and transparency in the virtual assets market, by preventing abuse and providing necessary infrastructure.
