EU Strategy on Standardisation published

On 2 February 2022, the European Commission has published its Strategy on Standardisation, in which it details the need to establish standards in several sectors, including ones linked to the digital market, to avoid future strategic dependencies. The identified sectors include the certification of chips and data standards. In relation to these goals, the Strategy sets out the Commission's plan of action, including establishing new channels of communication and cooperation, reviewing existing standards, and cooperating with the existing European Standards Organisations (ESOs).
