Delegated act to the Radio Equipment Directive implemented

After a transition period of 30 months that began on 29 December 2021, the delegated act to the Radio Equipment Directive is put into force fully on 29 June 2024. The act was created in an effort to strengthen the cybersecurity requirements for wireless devices and ensure the resilience of communication networks. The delegated act outlines new cybersecurity provisions in order to guarantee the protection of individuals’ privacy and personal data and prevent monetary fraud. The manufacturers of devices such as mobile phones and fitness trackers will have to follow the new requirements when they are designing and producing the products if they want to sell them in the EU market.
