On 4 April 2024, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) signed an agreement to join the Global Cooperation Arrangement for Privacy Enforcement (Global CAPE). Under the Global CAPE, the parties cooperate in cross-border data protection and privacy enforcement. As part of the Global CAPE, the ICO will be able to provide assistance in investigations and share information with member countries without entering into separate memorandums of understanding with each nation. By signing the agreement, the ICO will be able to cooperate and share information with Global CAPE members, which include the United States, Australia, Canada, Mexico, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, and Chinese Taipei.
