China: Closed consultation on MIIT draft industrial robot industry specification conditions

On 10 April 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) closed the public consultation on the draft industrial robot industry specification conditions. The draft aims to standardise the management of the industrial robot industry and promote fair competition and high-quality development. The draft includes specific investment percentages of annual revenue into research and development, the requirement to establish quality management systems that are compliant with several standards, and the requirement to dedicate personnel responsible for technical and quality management.
