Implemented Decree-law n.123 including obligation for electronic service providers to inform customers about parental control application availability

On 30 March 2024, the obligation for electronic service providers to inform customers about parental control application availability under Decree-law n.123 on the safety of minors in the digital environment entered into force. The decree mandates electronic communication service providers to ensure the availability of these applications within the scope of supply contracts. Furthermore, the decree requires electronic communications services to inform users about the importance of installing these applications and to provide the activation service without any additional cost. The Authority for Communications Guarantees (AGCOM) will supervise the correct application of this decree.
