Issued ruling in Korea Fair Trade Commission Investigation on Sacrastrada

On 23 January 2024, the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) imposed corrective measures and penalties against Sacrastrada, an online shopping mall, for violating the e-Commerce Act. The KFTC found that Sacrastrada failed to properly display the identity of the operator on its website, used a different trade name than registered, and did not link to the KFTC's business information disclosure page. Furthermore, Sacrastrada posted products as discounted for a limited period and implied normal delivery was possible, despite being unable to supply the products. As a result, the KFTC ordered Sacrastrada to cease these illegal practices, publicly announce the corrective measures through newspaper ads, suspend business for 4.5 months, and pay a KRW 7 million fine.
