Adopted Global CAPE to enhance privacy and data security enforcement

On 17 January 2024, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) adopted the Global Cooperation Arrangement for Privacy Enforcement (Global CAPE). The Global CAPE enables the FTC to cooperate, assist with investigations, and share information with other privacy authorities worldwide. The Global CAPE allows cooperation on privacy and data security law enforcement issues without needing to negotiate with each participant separately. The Global CAPE supplements Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation Cross-border Privacy Rules (APEC CBPR).
