Opened UOKiK investigation into CLOUT MMA streaming services over alleged unfair business practices

On 17 November 2023, the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) opened a preliminary investigation into CLOUT MMA for non-functioning streaming services. The inquiry follows numerous consumer complaints about payment for event broadcasts that couldn't be watched despite functional equipment and adequate internet connections. Users were unable to access the streaming platform even after paying for the service. The UOKiK emphasised that businesses offering live event broadcasts must have reliable technical infrastructure and bear responsibility for service quality and compensation in case of technical problems. CLOUT MMA could face a fine of up to 10% of its revenue.
