Description

Expanded registry of social networks affected by content moderation requirement with the platforms Zen, Rutube and Twitch

On 31 May 2023, Roskomnadzor added the social network platforms Zen, Rutube and Twitch to the registry of social networks. Starting from February 2021, the legislation known as the self-regulation law for social networks (No. 530-FZ) has been implemented. The law mandates the internet to autonomously detect and prevent the circulation of prohibited content. Additionally, social networks are required to provide a feedback mechanism for users to report any instances of such content. Registered social network platforms are obligated to remove or block content that promotes drug use, pornography, or encourages suicide. To ensure adherence to the law, Roskomnadzor maintains a register of social networks, overseeing compliance measures.
