Closed consultation on Partial Revision of Supplementary Rules on handling personal data transferred from the EU and UK

On 27 January 2023, Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission (PPC) closed its consultation on its draft Partial Revision of Supplementary Rules on handling personal data transferred from the EU and UK. The Supplementary Rules contain that apply to data processors when handling personal data from the EU and UK under the data transfer adequacy decision. The draft Partial Revision would add the category of "pseudonymised information" to the Supplementary Rules, alongside specific obligations for processors of pseudonymised information.
