United States of America: Rejected Advancing American Artificial Intelligence Innovation Act of 2021

On 3 January 2023, the Advancing American Artificial Intelligence Innovation Act of 2021 was rejected after failing to pass before the 117th Congress adjourned. The Act aimed to Act authorise the Secretary of Defense to carry out a pilot program on the possibility of establishing data libraries containing Department of Defense data sets relevant to the development of AI software. The data libraries would have been made available to both public and private sector organisations to support the development of relevant AI software.
