Opened consultation on Draft Privacy Protection Regulations for Data Transfers from the EU to Israel

On 30 November 2022, the Ministry of Justice of Israel opened a consultation on the Draft Privacy Protection Regulations for Data Transfers from the European Union to Israel until 20 December 2022. The Regulations are being proposed in the context of the review currently carried out by the EU Commission for the extension of the recognition granted to Israel in 2011 regarding the adequate levels of protection of personal information for the purposes of data transfers. The Regulations establish four new obligations for data controllers. In particular, the controllers will be required to delete information, follow retention limitations for information that is not considered necessary, ensure the accuracy of the information and notify the data subjects.
