On 18 July 2022, the UK Government published the AI Action Plan outlining the government’s activities and advances under the National AI Strategy released on 22 September 2021. The AI Action Plan focuses on three pillars, "Investing in the long-term needs of the AI ecosystem", "Ensuring AI benefits all sectors and regions", and "Governing AI effectively". The Plan outlines the actions that each department took to reach the goals outlined in the AI Strategy and lists the agencies' commitments for the following months. Furthermore, the UK Government stated that it will issue in the following 12 months legislative proposals implementing the requirements outlined in the AI governance policy paper and publish AI standards.
