United States of America: Advancing American Artificial Intelligence Innovation Act of 2021 introduced in Senate

On 4 November 2021, draft bill S.3175, the Advancing American Artificial Intelligence Innovation Act of 2021, was introduced in the US Senate. If passed, the Act would authorise the Secretary of Defense to carry out a pilot program on the possibility of establishing data libraries containing Department of Defense data sets relevant to the development of AI software. The data libraries would be made available to both public and private sector organisations to support the development of relevant AI software.
