On 6 December 2024, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) issued an order establishing supervisory authority over Google Payment Corp. The CFPB noted that although Google Payment Corp. is also subject to its enforcement jurisdiction, it also meets the legal requirements for supervision, which refers to an ongoing process to monitor the company's practices to ensure compliance with relevant laws. The CFPB explicitly clarified that this order does not imply any wrongdoing by Google Payment Corp.
