On 30 November 2022, the Namibian Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) closed its public consultation on the draft Data Protection Bill. The Bill aims to establish a "Data Protection Supervisory Authority" and define its respective responsibilities and functions. Further, the Bill also regulates the Authority's power to issue sectoral codes of conduct. Finally, the Bill sets out the Authority's jurisdiction over enforcement of the Bill's other provisions.
